Remington 3200 TRAP – 1 OF 1000, AS NEW, CASED vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Remington, Year 1973, 12 Gauge, 9lbs 1oz, IM/F, LOP 14 3/8", DAH 2", DAC 1 5/8" F/ 1 1/2" B Serial Number: T0399 The Remington Model 32 Over/Under was a brutishly strong gun well ahead of its time when introduced in 1932. It was a relatively short production run ending in the mid-1940’s with only 5000 guns produced. The Remington Model 32 made the Field and Stream magazine’s “TOP 5O GUNS EVER MADE”. Many do not realize that the Model 32 design was sold to and used by Krieghoff in its super popular K-80. That’s right, look at the locking mechanism and action design---K-80 is a copy of the Model 32 with the inevitable improvements time always provides. You can bet Remington regretted selling off the rights once Krieghoff reintroduced the gun with such success. Fast forward to 1973 and we find Remington reinventing the Model 32 with the introduction of the Remington Model 3200, a gun similar in design but with modern day improvements. They made the Remington 3200 Over/Under from 1973 to 1984, producing about 46,000 guns in all. This particular Remington 3200, snT0399 built in 1973, is a special high-grade version labeled “1 of 1000”, this being number 399 of the 1000 produced. This high-grade version has extraordinary wood figure and fancy checkering with ribbons, scroll engraving, gold highlighted “1 0f 1000” inlaid on both the left and right side of the receiver, and a gold grip cap ready for your initials. Cased in a fine leather case with a Remington trade label ($750 value!), this is a special Remington that will become a classic collectible. The condition of this gun is new and barely fired, maybe only at the factory as the finishes are 100% without a mark anywhere. There is barely any evidence of a primer shadow mark on the standing breech face of the action, indicating that the gun was only fired a few times in its life. These guns are outstanding guns at the traps and this is the best one you will ever see and looks gorgeous in its rich leather case. A great buy at the price offered and its present condition for a Remington classic. Thanks for looking!
