Its metal surfaces retain just about all of its original high polished blue finish, with just a few very minor handling marks on the barrel and trigger guard. The barrel hanger is turning a lovely deep plum color, very common on these older 870s. But the wood on this gun is where the real story is. Gorgeously figured, with factory cut checkering that is still nice and sharp, with just a scant few light handling marks here and there. The aftermarket adjustable butt plate has been professionally installed, and the crescent-shaped soft recoil pad will keep you comfortable during a long day of shooting. Barrel is 30" and is marked "Mod Trap" on left side of chamber. Bore is bright and shiny its entire length, with no bulges or rings. Certainly one of the finest 870 variants ever produced!
