Remington 1100 16 ga 36 inch barrel modified

This is scarce Remington 16 ga plain barrel in modified choke. It has a 36 inch Remington barrel. I was unable to find any information on the 36 inch barrels and assume it was a special order barrel. With google, I did find 12 ga 36 inch barrels were available as special order, but I could find any info on 16 ga 36 inch barrels.  It could be a gunsmith extension to an original barrel.  I do not see a seem.  The weapon shows some signs of use but has not been abused. It dates to the early 1970s and qualifies as a C&R. I have not fired the weapon but would not hesitate to do so. As with all weapons, this should be checked out by a qualified gunsmith before firing.
