SERIAL NUMBER 7 REMINGTON HEPBURN DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN

Description:
I believe this to be an experimental or prototype. I have never seen or heard of another one like it. Marked on the water table is simply "L L Hepburn December 18th 1883". Original 32 inch barrels with excellent pattern of Damascus retained on the outside. Shiny bores. I believe the buttstock is a replacement or a heavily sanded original. It is not undersized but the checkering is gone. Forearm is in fine condition with nice checkering. Case colored receiver is clean, sharp and in excellent condition with 30-40% original case colors showing. Very interesting, good looking gun. Very similar to the Hepburn single shot rifle with the breach opening lever on the side. Also included is a framed check signed by L.L. Hepburn dated September 18, 1880 as well as a postage stamp dated September 22, 1880. Very cool piece of Remington history!
