Remington 1100 Field, 12-Gauge Shotgun
Description: Remington Model 1100 Field, 12-gauge, autoloading shotgun with a high-polished, blued 28-inch, modified-choke barrel with a ventilated rib, a 2¾-inch chamber, a muzzle sight bead, and a satin-finished checkered walnut stock and forend. The length of pull is 14 inches. The drop at the comb is about 1½ inches. The drop at the heel is about 2 ¼ inches. The date of manufacture is not clear, but I believe it is mid to late 1970s, probably 1979. According to the Blue Book of Gun Values, the Remington 1100 Field shotgun was manufactured from 1963 to 1988. There is what appears to be a two-letter marking on the left side of the barrel, about ¼ inch forward of the receiver. The first letter is poorly stamped and illegible. The second letter is a V. Given the period this model was manufactured, 1963-1988, this would indicate that the year of manufacture is 1979. This two-letter stamped is followed by the number 19. I do not know what this indicates. There are no box, papers, or accessories with this shotgun. The overall condition of the gun is 99 percent. The finish on the barrel is 99+ percent, with one almost-invisible scrape or thin bluing about an inch long on right side of the barrel about 6 ¾ inches in front of the forend. There are no marks or other blemishes of any type. The receiver is 99 percent, with a couple very small scratches on the left side of the receiver near the top of the receiver. The trigger guard is 99 percent, with a few tiny nicks along its forward edge (see photo). The finish on the forend is 100 percent, with no other damage or other marks. The checkering is deep, crisp, and unmarred. The wood on the stock is 100 percent. The white plastic piece between the pistol grip and the cap has some small chips on the front side. The checkering on the pistol grip is also deep, crisp, and unmarred. The KICK EEZ recoil pad is like new; it is supple, with no dryness or cracks. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos or even higher resolution versions the posted pictures. Buyer pays $65 USPS Priority mail and $8.95 insurance.
