Description:
Fratelli Rizzini are known for making some of the finest guns in the world. Their R 2 Boxlock is no longer produced, but examples are in high demand. This fine gun has 26" chopper lump barrels with flat matted game rib, that are engraved "COSTRUTTO ESPRESSAMENTE PER GIANOBERTO LUPI" (well known author of books on Italian shotguns). Barrel flats are stamped with 1979 Italian nitro proofs for 3" chambers, and with makers name. Coin finished boxlock ogee backed action features non-automatic safety and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with 60% coverage classic rose and scroll. Removable trigger plate is engraved with game scene depicting three flushing Hungarian partridge. Engravers signature is on trigger plate. Small bow trigger guard has serial number on tang. Well streaked and lightly figured European walnut slightly swan-necked buttstock with checkered wood butt. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grip. Small beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. 20 Gauge

Metal Condition: "Barrels silvered at bit at muzzles and with blue fading at breech ends. Coin finish of action is mostly bright, with some small flecks on tops of fences.Action is tight. Barrels are on face. Mechanically excellent.
