J.P. Sauer 12 Gauge SXS with Second
Set of
Barrels by W. Cashmore
Description:
This is a delightful Prussian era 12 gauge JP Sauer ejector gun, with second set of barrels, made by Birmingham gun maker William Cashmore, for Kirkwood Brothers of Boston...The original Sauer Barrels are 28" long and are choked mod and imp mod. The Cashmore barrels are 26" long and are choked ic and mod. Both barrel sets have 2 3/4" chambers with excellent bores...The length of pull is 15" over a solid pad. Stock drops are 1 1/2 an 2 3/8 inches...The gun weighs just under seven pounds with the 28" barrels and just over 6 1/2 pounds with the 26" barrels installed...The original gun appears to be a deluxe field grade gun, with auto ejectors, side clips, scalloped frame and upgraded stock wood and engravings...This is overall a well preserved, fine example of the gun makers art, as it existed in Germany and England, prior to the madness of WW1...
