Inv. 7013 J.P. Sauer SxS 12 Ga , 2 3/4" , 26" Barrels, LOP 13 1/4" , Just a really fine German pre-war shotgun.
The conditionis really great. The barrels retain about 98-99% of the original factory matte blue finish. The loss is due to some sharp edge thinning of the matted rib and the tips of the muzzles. There are no dings or scratches anywhere. The receiver, trigger guard assembly and the forearm release mechanism are color case hardened and retain about 85% of the original factory finishand are all tastefully engraved. The little loss there is, is due to the usual case color fading over time.
There is no rust, flaking, scratches or rub marks on any of the metal parts. The walnut hand checkered grips and forearm are very nice condition. However the pistol grip has a chip missing from the bottom and there is a small repair just in front of the silver initial plate on the toe of the stock. The gun also features an Anson & Deeley crossbolt. It locks up tight and all parts function with the precision of a fine German double. The bores are super clean, mirror bright and flawless.
