J.P. Sauer “Deluxe” Sidelock 16 Ga.

Description:
JP Sauer & Sohn "Deluxe" 16 Ga. Serial No. 55520 with 2/42 proof 
date. Made for the European market....note "Sohn"as apposed to "Son"
Unusual and Seldom encountered "Model Deluxe"
Interestingly, it has Nazi proofs.  Since it's a turn of the century serial 
number it must have been returned to Sauer for work....probably for new 
steel barrels.  Likely it was made originally with Damascus barrels.
The last photo is of a near serial number gun l had on file. Enjoy!

Barrel and stock measurements:  bright untampered-with bores, 29 1/4" barrels, 65mm chambers....the
shadetree gunsmiths haven't cobbled up the chambers yet!  Leave them original
and shoot.....somehow the experts have convinced a bunch of
"Nimrods" that 1/8" of an inch makes one damn bit of difference.

Condition:  Perfect bright bores. Blue excellent....little wear.
