JP Sauer and Sohn Model 280, 16 Gauge, 28" Barrels, Really Beautiful
Description: Truly stunning between the wars JP Sauer and Sohn, 16 Gauge shotgun made for the American market. This gun was manufactured in Germany in 1923 and imported to the US by Von Lengerke & Detmold of NYC. The gun first appears in the VL&D ledger February 1st, 1926. It remained on the ledger until December 14, 1928, the day it was sold. The gun came to us with a cut butt stock. We have had the butt stock lengthened back to the original 14 3/8", as stated in the ledgers, by the very talented Mark Larson Gun Art. The fine, Krupp 3-Ring Steel barrels have original deep black rust blues finish and the bores are in perfect condition. The barrels ring beautifully. The gun is really quite beautiful and speaks to a time when skilled craftsmen were as much like artists. Please see specifications below and view more photos on oursite. An absolute stunner, in amazing condition, in the best of all gauges. Reasonable offers considered. Research information provided by the kind folks at Griffin and Howe. Information will be provided to buyer.
