This is a beautiful example of a scarce and desirable WWII J. P. Sauer and Sohns M30 German Luftwaffe survival drilling rifle. The M30 Drilling was standard issue to Luftwaffe bomber crews in North Africa and the Mediterranean Theater from 1941-43 to provide them with a high quality survival rifle in the event of a forced landing and were beautifully made guns. So much so their cost was deemed too high and production was ceased before the order was filled. They are a three-barreled combination gun; double barrel 12 gauge, over a 9.3X74R rifle barrel. These drilling rifles exhibit the beautiful prewar workmanship as produced by the J. P. Sauer and Sohns factory that consist of the high polish rust blued barrel with the beautiful color casehardened receiver and trigger with an oil finished, European walnut stock and forearm, that rivaled anything that was produced in the US. The bottom of the rear barrel lug has a single "stick Eagle/2" Luftwaffe acceptance mark and the underside of each barrel has the Commercial "Eagle/N" proofmarks, along with the bore and gauge/caliber markings, "12/65" and is dated 5-42 for the month and year of manufacture (pictured). In addition there is a very small "Eagle/M" proof mark similar to the standard "Eagle/N" firing proof, which may indicate German Navy acceptance, as these could have been issued to pilots of the various Flying Boats and seaplanes in use by the German Kriegsmarine throughout the war. Both shotgun barrels and the rifle barrel are marked: "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL", with serial number "338201" located on the underside of the rifle barrel (pictured). The right rear breech area of the shotgun barrel also has the larger "Luftwaffe Eagle" Luftwaffe mark carrying the Nazi Swastika. The barrel has a matted rib with brass bead front sight. These drilling have a Greener type cross-bolt receiver/action with a side mounted safety lever. The top left edge of the receiver rail and the rear of the tang is marked with serial number "338201" with the intertwined "SS" proof for the Sauer & Sohns factory along with the Commercial Eagle "N" firing proof on the right side of the receiver. Both sides of the receiver are marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN SUHL" with a larger intertwined "SS" logo on the underside of the receiver. The drilling has a very nice walnut stock and forend. The stock has a small European oval cheekpiece and a casehardened pistol grip cap with a black plastic serrated buttplate that has the intertwined "SS" logo of the Sauer & Sohns, factory in the center. The right side of the buttstock is stamped with a large prominent Luftwaffe Eagle/Swastika insignia. The partial serial number, "201" is stamped on the inside of the forearm. The top of the receiver tang has a sliding barrel selector catch. When engaged the rifle barrel selector raises a folding, 100 meter, rifle rear sight on the barrel rib and engages the forward trigger for firing the rifle barrel. The front trigger can be pushed forward to activate a "single set" trigger. This rifle has a diminutive high quality scroll engraving on the receiver, trigger guard and engraved screw heads, with the forearm and pistol grip finely checkered. Bores look excellent, rifling excellent, choked Full/Full. This would be incredible to hunt with, nicely balanced and a lively 7lbs 13oz. The drilling is packed in an aluminum carrying case that has the gray/green painted exterior. The inside lid of the carrying case contains a black stenciled listing of the original contents of the case. The case is divided into compartments for the drilling, ammunition, cleaning equipment. The drilling rifle also includes an assortment of cleaning brushes and mops with an original boxed rod set and ammo. One would be hard pressed to find a finer example of this magnificent gun and its case. Another oustanding piece from The Greene Collection.

A TRULY DIFFERENT BUYING EXPERIENCE
We are not open to the public so your gun has not been handled unlike retailers where guns are endlessly handled, slammed shut and clacked back on a rack countless times by the masses. I have managed firearms retail and could not stand this aspect of it. When you receive a gun from me it’s been packed with care and arrives as your NEW GUN. One person handles each gun from the time it arrives until it leaves and that is me.
When a gun is sold it gets properly packed that day, by me with FedEx tracking sent to my client immediately. I contact your FFL FOR YOU, and handle all the paperwork. California? No problem, I have been shipping there for over a decade. Canada and Australia- have sent many there, just ask for details. Buying a fine gun should be fun and exciting. I don't want to sell you one gun, I want your business for life and want your referrals from building trust. I have been the largest seller of Caesar Guerini, Syren and Fabarms for the 5th straight year because of service and value. This is my model and I hope you give me a call. THANK YOU for reading.
