Here is a classic Savage Model 220A single-shot shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 2¾-inch chamber. Manufactured by Savage Arms Corporation, Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, this well-preserved American classic has been professionally fitted with a vintage Lyman Cutts Compensator, giving it a unique appearance while reducing recoil and muzzle rise.
This shotgun features an 18.5-inch legal barrel length, measured to the end of the permanently attached Lyman Cutts compensator, with an overall length of 34.5 inches. The compensator is securely pinned in place and represents a quality period gunsmith installation that was popular among sportsmen during the mid-20th century.
The metal retains an attractive, even blue finish with only light handling wear consistent with careful use. The walnut stock and forearm remain in excellent condition with an attractive finish and only minor handling marks. The action locks up tightly, and the shotgun presents as a solid, honest example of Savage's dependable single-shot design.
