Ethan Allen & Co., Worchester, Mass. Double Barrel Caplock Shotgun 12 ga
Description:
Ethan Allen & Co., Worchester, Massachusetts
Ethan Allen Muzzle Loading Caplock English Proofs. The lock plates are marked “Ethan Allen & Co., Makers”. The top rib is very worn but think the faint markings read: “Paton & Sons, 38 Church ST., Perth, Makers to HRH Prince Albert”. This gun is in very fine antique condition. Bores of the 29” Damascus barrels are lightly pitted, The walnut stock is solid with no breaks, gouges or dents and the checkering is distinct. The locks and breach block engraving remain in excellent condition and are free of rust or corrosion. This gun functions perfectly. Shoot it or hang it. It is rare to find American made guns exported to England in this period. I guess we just made a good gun for the money.
