This is a James Purdey & Sons Side by Side Boxlock and Hammerless shotgun in 12 Gauge with 2 1/2 Inch chambers and Extractors. This shotgun dates to 1889. It is considered an Antique by the ATF. The water table is marked "Anson & Deeley's Patent". The engraved action is marked "J Purdey & Sons" and is in Excellent condition. The 29 inch Damascus barrels are in Excellent condition with a few handling marks on the barrels and on the rib. The bores are bright and shiny. Chokes are Cylinder and Skeet. Wood is checkered walnut in the Classic English style with a straight grip and splinter fore end. The butt is checkered with no plate. Wood condition is Excellent. Included is a fitted leather luggage style case marked "James Purdey & Sons, London W.". The case is in Excellent condition. There is a key but no accessories in the case.
