Description: I AM IN THE PROCESS OF LIQUIDATING MY 50+ YEAR ANTIQUE FIREARMS COLLECTION ! I HAVE A J & W TOLLEY 12 BORE SXS SPORTING GUN * CASED SN 8875. Replacement 26 inch barrels. Game Rib. Case hardened sidelock action with 50% fine folicate scroll engraving. Locking third fastener. Automatic safety. Ejectors. Finely checkered straight grip stock of semi figured walnut. Drop points. Checkered butt. Finely checkered splinter fore end with Deeley style release. Later leather covered trunk case with green baize interior. Condition: Very Good, as redone. Barrels show 90-95% reblued finish. Left barrel shows two slight dents. Bright bores with light frosting and a few marks. Action shows a polished finish. Stock shows light handling marks. Fore end shows refreshed checkering. Case in excellent condition. Bores: 0.729/0.730 inches. Chokes: 0.016/0.041 inches. Chambers: 2 1/2 inches. Proof: Birmingham Nitro .729 .729 2 1/2 3 tons per sq in. Minimum wall thickness: 0.023 inches. Stock dimensions: Pull: 14 5/8 inches. Drop at Comb: 1 1/2 inches. Drop at heel: 2 1/8 inches. Cast-off: 5/16 inches. Weight: 6 lbs. James & William Tolley, 1832 - 1916 Gun & Rifle Makers, were at 22 St. Mary's Row, Birmingham from 1859-1870, then at 19 Loveday Street, Birmingham (known then as the Pioneer Works) from 1874-1902 when they moved their operation next door to 18 Loveday Street.
