German 16 gauge SxS
Description: Unknow German manufacture 16 gauge boxlock SxS shotgun. Although it is "unknown" it is a very well made gun with extremely fine attention to details. The scalloped receiver is beautifully and profusely engraved in floral and scroll. The side clip shoulders are engraved with deep cut oak leaves. Even the breech ends of the barrels and the rib extension are engraved. The full coverage engraving on the bottom continues on the trigger guard. Double triggers, automatic safety and cocking indicators complete the receiver. The lockup is formidable! Two underlug locks; one rib extension third fastener and side clips! The barrels are 28 1/2" long. 2 1/2" chambers and automatic ejectors. The chokes are .005" right and .012" left. Fine bores. The pistol grip, right hand cheek piece stock has a 14 1/2 LOP over a 3/4" Kick Eez recoil pad with 1 1/2" DAC and 2 7/8" DAH. Neutral cast. Weighs 6 lbs. 4 oz. Condition wise the receiver has 10% remaining case colors. The barrels would be 98% bright blue but there is significat fading/light surface rust on the right side from the breech for about 5"..call the barrel blue 75%. The forearm wood finish has been worn by handling and the checkering is fairly smooth. The buttsock is gorgeous in its figure and deep dark finish but there a few noticeable handling marks This would make a very nice upland bird gun and it is great looking. SOLD |
