Franchi Falconet – Classic Italian Over/Under – 12 Gauge – 1969
For sale is a Luigi Franchi Falconet Silver over/under shotgun, chambered in 12 Gauge (2 3/4" only). This shotgun is in great used condition and represents a classic piece of Italian craftsmanship – a well-balanced, fast-handling shotgun that gets on target quickly. Serial Number: 76292 (matching on barrel and receiver). Barrel markings include Finito, PSF, XXV – the XXV date code indicates 1969 production, making this a pre-1975 Italian shotgun.
The Falconet features chromed steel barrels with fixed chokes – Improved Cylinder over Modified – a classic and versatile choke combination. The alloy receiver is elegantly engraved (engravings remain sharp and gorgeous) with a single trigger and selector safety switch. The shotgun has auto ejectors that send spent cartridges clear of the breech for unhindered reloading. The vent rib features a brass bead, and the walnut stock and forend feature fine checkering that remains sharp and grippy. Imported by Stoeger.
Condition Notes: This shotgun has handling marks all over – it has been used and enjoyed. There is discoloration to the finish on the bottom of the barrel – a semi-rectangular discolored spot, possibly from a sticker or something being removed. The engravings are still clear and gorgeous, and the checkering is sharp and grippy. This shotgun is used – a life well lived. Not a collector's grade piece, but a fully functional, beautiful Italian O/U. This series (the Falconet) was succeeded by the Instinct series of Franchi shotguns.
