16 Gauge Wilhelm Kief (German) LE Faucheux Sliding Barrel Action
Description: 16 Gauge Wilhelm Kief (German) LE Faucheux Sliding Barrel Action. This German double 16 gauge was likely made 1910-1920. It is in fantastic original condition. I believe it has never had any refinish. The bluing is near 100% with some minor freckling on the left barrel. The action retains only minor traces of case color in protected areas. The engraving is finely detailed game scenes and scroll. On the right sideof the action are 2 dogs and a duck, the left side is 2 rabbits and a fox in a woodland scene on the top. The barrels have bands and 1 inch wedge of intricate scroll engraving The stock and forearm finish is excellant with only minor nics. The very fine checkering is excellent. The 29 1/2 inch bores are mirror with only slight specks in right barrel. The original chambers remain 65mm (2 5/8"). The minimum barrel wall thickness is .033 with chokes of .028 (Full). The barrels are nitro proved Krupp Prima Steel. Length of Pull 14 1/4" over a decorative steel butt plate with peak. Horn grip cap and sling swivel are included. All screws are very good to excellent. Weight 6 lbs 10 oz. The barrels ring true. The water table and the inside of the forearm have near 100% color and look as it did 100 years ago. The left side of the actionhas some discoloration. Overall there are very few 100 year old guns in this spectacular condition. SOLD |
