Description: #29650, Raick Freres - Liege: A Belgium 16 Bore SxS Sidelock Ejector Game Gun Made in Belgium in 1945 with 27 5/8" Siemens Martin Steel Ejector Dovetail Lump barrels with a hidden Third Bite, Concave matted rib, .671 .019 & .027" (Mod. & Full), 2 3/4" chambers, Original bore size, Wall thickness on the right barrel at .030" and the left at .031", London proved in 2005 to 2 3/4" (70mm) and 900 BAR with the proper London reproof stamps, Bushed strikers, Double triggers with the front articulated, Splinter forend with a frontal Anson release, Open Prince of Wales grip at 14 1/8 x 1 3/8 x 2 5/16" over a 1" pad, Slight cast-off for the right hand, 6 lbs. 4 oz., It has a cheekpiece that appears to have been added to the original wood, This piece has 98% coverage of Renaissance style game scene engraving in a European landscape with somewhat of a mythological look done by D. Bolland and signed accordingly, The barrels have been reblacked and now are 99%, The wood refinished and now at 996%, The checkering is at 97%, The barrels inside and out remain excellent. Here is a very nice 16 bore game gun made in 1945 with the proper weight and represents a very fair value for a sidelock. Raick Freres started in Liege, Belgium in 1895 and record has it they were still in business up to 1922. Record also has it that he had a branch in London.
