Description:
Browning Belgian made Superposed 28 gauge Diana grade O/U shotgun.
NOTE: Made in 1970 I have included photos that indicate and prove that this gun, although made during the end of the “salt” years, is absolutely pure and has always been pure and free from any “salt” contamination. I mention and emphasize that point because a buyer should always be skeptical of graded Superposed Browning made from 1967 – 1970!
Back to the gun itself. This is a very high condition original Diana 28 gauge with very desirable 28” vent rib barrels and choked Skeet/Skeet, which also happen to be perfect for upland game over pointing dogs! The gun is factory configured as a New Style skeet which incorporated slightly higher stock dimensions with 1 ½” DAC, 1 7/8” DAH with a 14 ¼” LOP over a factory installed Browning marked recoil pad, with neutral cast. The stock has a “flat knob” grip with a “short tang”. The extended beavertail forearm was also a feature of the New Style Skeet as was the mechanical trigger system.
Common with any high grade Superposed that is 50 years +/- old is that some “checking” is noticeable in the wood finish. The blued metal barrels still retain 99% original finish. NOTE: under the front of the forearm there is usually significant wear from the forearm..not so on this gun! The coin finished receiver, trigger guard, top tang/top lever and forearm iron are all excellent.
Weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz.
In summary this is a very high condition, original Browning 28 gauge Diana New Style Skeet.
