W.J Griffiths 8 Gauge Shotgun! MFG: 1887-1896

Description:
This W.J Griffiths 8 GA Shotgun is a very rare very interesting shotgun! based on the proofs its was manufactured between 1887 to 1896 its a a serialized break action shotgun with a huge 39 inch barrel! IT has a strait wrist checkered wood stock in excellent condition, It has been refinished. The checkering is still deep and present within the stock and has not been worn away. It has a horn cap and there is a few faint wearing marks on the metal finish with some spots of thin bluing. There is some slight patina on the gun but it rates about 85% The barrel is marked W.J GRIFFITHS MANCHESTER, the lock plate is marked W.GRIFFITHS. The bore is very good, It is very bright with some minor roughness. The barrel has a front bead sight and the stock has been fitted with a aftermarket plastic Butt plate.
