The Browning Citori is one of the most successful and enduring over/under (O/U) shotgun designs in history, and the Citori Hunter is a specific variant within this vast family, designed primarily for field use and hunting.The Browning Citori was introduced in 1973 as a more affordable, mass-produced alternative to John M. Browning‚s venerable, hand-fitted Superposed O/U shotgun. The Superposed, while a masterpiece, became increasingly expensive to manufacture. To achieve this more economical production without sacrificing quality, Browning partnered with Miroku Corporation in Japan, which continues to manufacture Citori shotguns to this day. This partnership allowed for modern manufacturing techniques while maintaining high standards of fit and finish.
