a very nice Henry C Squires of New York 16 ga SXS with Damascus barrels
Description:
Light weight and handy vintage SXS sold by Henry C Squires of New York. The barrels are marked on the underside as not being for ball. I believe it also has english barrel proofs. The wood is in great condition as is the action. The action is covered with very nicely done scroll work. Barrels are tight on face and also have thick walls. Barrel length is 28" and they do NOT appear to have been cut down. Bores are shiny with very minor scaling and minor pitting. Extractors of course. The gun weighs 6lbs and 9 ozs!! The wood is very nice with some modest figure and a blank oval in the buttstock. Checkering is clean and without any issues. Forearm is in the same condition and looks quite good. It has an ebony insert at the tip. Serial number is 6238. I was told its an American gun but Im inclined to believe its actually an English gun, that was very well made.
This is an antique and can be shipped directly to you, but we will require photo ID prior to shipping. Cards add the 3% fee.
