Description:
From a mid-west estate sale, a antique 28 gauge double barrel coach gun with a 22" round shotgun barrels. The wood stock is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips other than some small wood loss above the wedge pin (see photos). It has a very ornate scalloped butt plate, trigger guard and entrance thimble (see photos). The iron metal finish has an aged mottled grey patina (see photos). This little smooth bore weighs 5 1/2 lbs, and a 13 1/2" LOP and is 37" over all. The unmarked, locks function perfectly (including half cock) and have strong hammer springs. A portion of the front trigger has been removed, filed down and rounded off. At the sale that said this was and old stage coach trick which made it possible to fire both barrels nearly simultaneously both triggers function as they should (see photos). The barrel is fitted with a front bead and a grooved tang (see photos), What I can see of the bore looks good. The barrel is old style manufacturing and the fittings are all period correct. It is difficult to date the locks or tell the guns manufacture but everything on the gun appears to have been unaltered from the original. I am no expert and have no way to authenticate this little shotgun therefore I am offering this gun with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations, in any way, return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed(see my feedback).
I do not recommend firing any weapon util it has been thoroughly inspected by a certified gunsmith.
