Hammerless Sidelocks - The factory letter indicates this vintage Smith was finished January 29 1903. I was really interested to see the cost of this gun then, over $115! In 1903 this was a very large amount of money. Adjusting for inflation this would be over $3500 dollars today. A properly dressed gentleman in 1903 would have spent between $7 and $16 on his suit, $1 on each of his dress shirts, around $7 on his topcoat and 48 cents for a fine felt hat.
