This N R Davis & Sons 16ga is a nice little gun is very good original condition. It is mechanically excellent with much original finish. The 26” barrels have 2 ¾” chamber, long forcing cones, and excellent bores. With serial number 7 it was probably made about 1910. The walnut stock is free of nicks scratches and dents and has very good checkering, and original butt plate. There is a old stock repair at the head that will not effect servicability. The Davis guns are not well known but were of excellent design, quality materials, and assembled by able workers. They were a cut above Stevens, Hopkins and Allen, and other good low-priced shotguns. The company was in operation from about 1870 to 1940. Weight is about 6#. Stock measurementa:1 ¾’, 3”, 14 ½”, 26” bbls. choked 0.005 & 0.011
