Philadelphia Arms Co., A. H. Fox "A" Grade 12 ga
Description: Philadelphia Arms A grade #1013 The gun offered here is an “A” grade, serial number 1013, in very good condition. The action is lightly engraved with the name “Fox” on each side. The rib is marked “Philadelphia Arms Co. Phila. PA. Krupp Fluid Steel”. All metal surfaces are clean, free of rust and corrosion, but an even brown color. It appears to be original in every way with matching number parts and butt plate. The 30” Krupp steel barrels have excellent original blue, no dents or bulges, and the bores are slightly rough – yet quite shootable. The stock is solid with no dents or scrapes but has been refinished and the checkering mostly sanded off. The top lever is a little left of center but it locks-up perfectly. LOP = 14”; DC = 1 ½”; and DH 2 ½”. Chokes are full and modified. In 1905 the list price for an “A” grade was $50.00. All and all a pretty good example of a very rare American gun. The Philadelphia Arms Company was predecessor to the A. H. Fox Gun Company. It appears that only a few thousand were made between 1904 and 2007. Grades A – E were made priced from $50 to $200.
