Description:
Donckier (Marcel) 12 gauge. Made in Belgium, serial 674 (matching) has 28.5-inch barrels (fixed M/F, hand-filed rib with single bead, 2.75-inch chambers, ejectors). Features include side clips, mechanical safety, sidelock action and an articulated front trigger. Barrels, guard and small parts wear rust blue while the action contrasts in color case. STOCK: The bold-grained English walnut on splinter and butt is properly dressed with wrapping 26 lines-per-inch checkering (multiple layer borders, diamond and “Owen” arrows), drop points, thin wrist, straight comb and an initial shield (engraved “JCB”). The butt has a leather-faced recoil pad with a .40-inch spacer. ENGRAVING: The action, guard and lower tang are dressed in spectacular ribboned rose and scroll to full coverage. The “safety S” is gold. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 15.1 inches (13.8 inches to the end of the wood), drops are 1.5 and 2.35 inches, and cast off is approximately .30-inch. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright, barrels on face and mechanics positive. Barrel finish is approximately 95 percent. Colors are approximately 80 percent. Wood is approximately 90 percent. CASE: A leather and oak case with maker's label, two-piece rod, attachments and key is present and in good condition. The price is firm and layaway is available. $6,500 plus shipping.
