Description: Auguste Francotte, Liege, 12 Gauge game gun with 26" IC/M Siemens Martin Steel ejector barrels with raised matted rib and 2 3/4" chambers. 1962 production. Bores are excellent measuring .726 on the right and .729 on the left. Choked .010 right and .027 left. MWT- .032 right and .030 left. French Silver reciever with double underlugs and Greener crossbolt. Full coverage Acanthus Leaf engraving with a pointer on each side and a Mallard on the floorplate. Stocked in European Walnut with nice color, contrast, and fiddleback figure. Prince of Wales grip. Splinter forend with Anson release. 14 3/8" LOP to a leather covered pad with removeable plugs. DAC- 1 3/4" DAH- 25/8" Neutral cast. 6lb 6oz This is a nice piece from one of Belgium's most respected makers and from a better gunmaking era. It is tight and on face. Ejectors are strong and well timed. Barrels ring with a pronounced chime. It remains in very good condition with 96% original stock finish. There is a small sliver missing from the forend on the left adjacent to the forend iron as pictured. Buttstock and forend both solid. Checkering remains at 97% Original barrel rust blue remains at 99% Cased in a new modern leather cornered canvas trunk case with two keys. Good value here. SOLD |
