This is a Fabriques D'Armes Unies Liege (Liege United Arms Co.) 12 gauge side by side. Beautifully case hardened. This gun remains in very fine overall condition showing almost no use. It is very tight and closes like a bank vault. It appears to be all original without refinish. The Liege United Arms Co. manufactured fine firearms in the great gunmaking city of Liege, Belgium from 1920 until 1976. This gun was manufactured in 1945.
I purchased this gun when we were stationed in Okinawa, Japan. This is a game gun built on an Anson & Deeley-patent boxlock action. It features Southgate-style ejectors. It has 2 3/4" chambers and was proofed to shoot smokeless powder ammo by the Belgian proof house in Liege. The safety is automatic.
Per the appraiser "the condition looks very original, and the engraving and shaping of the action is high quality. Fabriques d’Armes Unies made guns of all types and qualities. Your shotgun would have been one of the higher-quality and more expensive models."
It was recommended that I contact Rock Island for this gun but I don't care for dealing with s. In truth, I love this gun and am only selling due to an unforeseen expense.
