Guns International #: 101952782
Seller's Inventory #: 4731
This example has non rebounding hammers and the extremely strong Jones underlever. I often hear that people seem to prefer rebounding hammers in a hammer gun but I have to say both systems have advantages. The thing I like about the non rebounding guns is they feature a half cock position that most of the rebounding lock guns do not feature. In the half cock position the triggers cannot be pulled but they are very near full cock so when in this safe position they are very handy for quick cock to full and ready to fire.
The barrels show some typical light pitting in the forcing cone area and just forward of there but was obviously present when the gun was given modern nitro proofs. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4731 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.

Francis Brebner of Darlington ~ A quality hammer gun with nitro proofs
Description: Hammerguns - This is a beautiful example of what some of the smaller gun makers could produce in England in the early days of breech loading shotguns.
