J. Fairman Side Lever Hammer  Double 12 ga circa 1867 and likely conversion from  muzzle loading, 28 3/4in. black powder only bold  damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'J. FAIRMAN. 23  JERMYN STREET ST. JAMES'S LONDON.', chamberless, bored true cyl. in both, wall thicknesses at 16  and 18, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding  sidelocks, bold acanthus scroll engraving, the  triggerguard with two hounds, the tang with the  serial number and '1', retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. well-figured  stock, steel buttplate with top tang, fore-end  with crosspin release and horn finial, weight 6lb.  10oz.. Condition, Excellent as English restored  and Mechancailly excellent Barrel 28 No 4473
