20 Gauge William Evans in Excellent Condition
Description: For sale is a 20 Gauge William Evans Side by Side in great condition. Here are the specs on this gun: Barrels are 26" LOP is 14.5 " Stock is European Walnut. It is cast for Right Hand shooter. Double Trigger. Here are some more details: The barrels are in excellent shape. No dings or dents, just couple areas of very minor wear. None of the blueing has been worn off. The stock is a beautiful walnut with a lot of great figuring. There are some shallow scratches in the rear stock (see pics), but these could be removed with a good re-finishing. The front stock was hand-filed, and with a very tight grain, and this detail work has not been dented or worn off. The scroll work on this gun, which was all done by hand, it truly excellent (see pics). None of the scroll work has been worn off or dented. There are no dents are major scratches in the receiver. The sides of the receiver are inscribed with the words: Willam Evans from Purdey London The top of the barrel has this same inscription, plus the barrel shows the original address of the workshop where Willam Evans and his staff made the shotguns. The gun come with an antique canvas and wood hard case, with a felt-lined interior. This case includes the label for William Evan's workshop. I have taken a LOT of photos, so that you can see the amount of craftsmanship that went into making this gun. It is truly a work of art. I purchased this gun so that at some point in my life, I could hunt with a hand-made English shotgun. This gun served its purpose to perfection. I got tons of compliments every time I took this gun out of its case.
