Description: ALFRED LANCASTER 12 BORE BOXLOCK SXS SPORTING GUN SN 5182. Shortened 28 1/2 inch Damascus barrels. Game rib with dolls head extension. Case hardened border engraved boxlock action with A LANCASTER LONDON in a banner. Pins with circular decorations. Scalloped rear of action. Extractor. Auto safety. Finely checkered straight grip stock of figured contrasting walnut. Vacant silver oval. Later one inch recoil pad. Finely checkered splintered forend with Anson release. Top rib marked A LANCASTER 50 GREEN St. GROSVENOR SQUARE LONDON. CONDITION: Excellent, as redone. Barrels show 60-70% rebrowned finish. Bright bores with frosting. Right bore shows a pit near muzzle. Right barrel shows a dent near muzzel. Polished action shows some slight pitting. Reblued floor plate and triggerguard. Refinished and recheckered wood. Stock shows a slight repair at grip. circa 1886-1892 Barrel dimensions: Bores: 0.735/0.735 inches. Chokes: 0.002/0.003 inches Cyl. Chambers: 2 1/2 inches. Proof: London, Black Powder, 12, 12. Mimimum wall thickness: 0.025 inches. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 1/2 inches. Drop at comb: 19/16 inches. Drop at heel: 2 1/4 inches. Cast off: 3/8 inches. Weight: 6 lbs 8 oz.
