Here's a great opportunity to own a London made SxS at a bargain price. This is a Charles Osborne 12ga SxS with 30" barrels, finely engraved, English stock. Anson & Deeley type forearm release, nicely colored on the inside.
Receiver is engraved in a fine British scroll, marked "Chas. Osborne & Co.". Discreet import mark under the barrels at the very end of the forearm.
This would be a wonderful gun for anyone looking for a project that would result in a really sweet British double- it could use a deep cleaning. Barrels appear to have been re-done at some point, and the receiver as well. Minor wear and a few minuscule dings scattered about on the metal. There is slight play in the forearm when it is mounted, but the barrels are tight when the gun is assembled with or without the forearm. Stock has a crack in the upper comb at the plate, as well as some dents/gouges. The original checkering pattern is handsome and would re-cut nicely. Bores are decent, some light pitting here or there. Still, a very handsome 30" London made gun with a rich history and would be a joy to carry afield. I simply have too many guns that don't need attention at the moment, and would rather get this one to someone who will enjoy it more than I.
