Charles Osborne Boxlock Ejector with 30” Very Highly Figured Nitro Damascus Barrels

*** SOLD SOLD SOLD *** Handsome and great handling Charles Osborne 12 bore Anson & Deeley boxlock ejector with fabulously figured nitro Damacus barrels. One of the most highly figured and beautifully browned sets of Damascus barrels we have ever seen! Profuse and sharp engraving with some residual case coloring. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, and auto safety. Osborne number 45916 was made pre-1898. Very good mechanical condition. Presented in its Brady canvas & leather case. At 6lb 12oz easy to carry for a day afield.
The 30” nitro Damascus barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding low pressure 2-1/2” shotshells are readily available from Clays Ammo, Game Bore, and RST Shotshells. The barrels are topped by a raised solid concave and tapered rib which is inscribed “Chas. Osborne & Co. 2 Gt. Scotland Yard London”. The bluing is in great condition and the bores are shiny and bright. The right barrel is bored 0.726 with a constriction of 0.007 for a light Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.035. The left barrel is bored 0.731 and has a constriction of 0.034 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.031.
The swept back pistol grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut. The forearm has a handsome ebony forearm tip and an Deeley & Edge latch release. The stock and forearm have a number of minor handling marks from normal usage. Stock dimensions are 14-7/16” including a thin buttplate by 1-3/8” by 1-7/8”. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.
