John Blanch and Son 16 Bore BLE “Made between the Wars”
Description: Handsome and sleek A&D 16 bore BLE with 28" nitro steel barrels. Well made by a well respected London maker, this upland double has a third hidden fastener, sports double triggers, auto ejectors and auto safety. This gun is tight on face and still maintains loads of residual case coloring and good bluing. Proofed for 1 ounce loads, this lightweight shotgun weighs 5 lb. 12 oz. and comes with a period case made by W.R. Pape (original label). The chopper lump nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2.5" shotshells. The barrels are topped with a slender raised solid concave gamestyle rib. The rib is top marked "J. Blanch and Son, 20 Cullum Street, Tenchurch Street, London E. C.". London proofed in 1997 for 1 oz. loads. The right barrel is choked Cylinder and has a minimum wall thickness of 0.029. The left barrel is choked Modified with minimum wall thickness of 0.032. Straight stock and splinter forend are made with beautiful, well-figured European walnut. Stock dimensions are 14.5" LOP by 1-7/16" by 1-7/8". Casted for right handed shooter. Stick does have some handling marks from normal usage. This gun would be a perfect addition for your upcoming fall bird hunts. Lightweight and able to be carried all day in the field, this one is sure to impress. Excellent for grouse, woodcock and quail hunters.
