7/16" Cast Off At the Toe...R barrel bore .730/ const. .016 (MOD) ... L barrel bore .730/const .021 (MOD) ... barrel wall thicknes .030" ... automatic safety ... double triggers. Manufactured in 1894, this gun was re-proofed at London proof house in 2002.
This gun is engraved with very high quality rose & scroll probably done by J. Lucas. The barrels are engraved, "Made of Sir Joseph Whentworth's Fluid Pressed Steel". The stock is highly figured and beautifully streaked European walnut with a checkered straight grip and checkered butt. There is an inlaid gold oval with the initials "PAV". The forend has equally beautiful wood and checkering with an Anson release. This item also includes the original oak & leather Purdey case with brass corners and a round central medallion. The interior is lined with red baize with the Purdey label and complete set of accessories.
