This Roy Vail boxlock side-by-side 12 Gauge is a well-made American shotgun from the respected Warwick, New York maker. It features 26" barrels choked Improved Modified and Modified, double triggers, tang safety, ejectors, and a beavertail forend. The receiver displays attractive scroll and border engraving with gold inlay, and the top rib is gold-inlaid “Roy Vail, Warwick, New York.”
Notable is the crossover stock designed for a left-eye dominant shooter using the right shoulder. The checkered walnut rounded knob pistol grip includes an engraved initial plate in the toe line and measures a generous 15 3/4" length of pull.

Metal surfaces rate excellent with only a few light handling marks to the wood. This is a distinctive and characterful Roy Vail SxS that would make an excellent field gun or addition to a collection of "American-made" doubles.
