W&C Scott 12 Bore Hammergun with Game Scene Engraving and Stunning Wood
Description: Beautifully engraved W&C Scott hammer game gun with game scene engraving and lots of residual case coloring. This 12 bore Scott, no. 2040, was made in 1872 with non-rebounding hammers, extractors, and double triggers. It has been restocked in highly figured European walnut with a hand rubber oil finish. Cased in its period leather case with straps, turnscrews, cleaning rod and snap caps. Weighs 6lb 11 oz. *** The 28” sleeved nitro steel barrels are proofed for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib. The rib is inscribed “W&C Scott & Son, Patentees. Dorset Place Pall Mall London”. The right barrel is bored 0.728 with a constriction of 0.005 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is a robust 0.034. The left barrel is also bored 0.728 and has a constriction of 0.010 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.033. *** The straighthand stock and splinter forearm are made of a majestic piece of European walnut. Checkering has been refreshed and is crisp. A wedge fastener secures the forearm. Stock dimensions are 14-1/4” including a thin horn buttplate by 1-7/8” by 3”. Cast off for righthand shot. *** Please note that the photographs are part of the description. Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period which begins when it arrives at the buyer’s FFL or specified address if the gun is classified as an Antique. Returns at buyer’s expense.
