An amazing example of a top-tier maker that you can actually afford and shoot! 28" single barrel Boss & Co 12 bore. Boss confirmed the date of order as April 1865. This gun has been sleeved in England, and is nitro proofed. 2.5" chamber, Highty figured English walnut stock measures 1.5" DAC and 2" DAH, with a 14" LOP. Checkered buttstock. Action is 100% tight and on face--it locks up like a bank vault! Barrel is choked .695 from a .724 bore. The only flaw is a small sliver of horn that is missing from the snap-on forend as pictured. I would not hesitate to shoot this gun in the field (I have regularly) and it is murder on pheasants with an ounce of copper-plated #5 shot. Please ask for any additional pictures you'd like to see before or buying. Buyer responsible for all shipping . ATF considers this to be an antique, and I can ship directly to the buyer.
