Antique WILLIAM ELLIS Single Barrel PERCUSSION Shotgun
Description: Antique WILLIAM ELLIS Single Barrel PERCUSSION Shotgun Engraved English Fowler Made Circa the 1840s Here we present an antique William Ellis Single Barrel Percussion Shotgun, manufactured circa the 1840s in London, England. William Ellis was known for his fine firearms and was listed at 61 James Street in London. This shotgun would have been a light and handy companion in the woods, hunting fowl or small furbearers. It has a short overall length of 39-1/2 inches with a 24-1/2 inch barrel and a 13-1/2 inch length of pull. The barrel begins octagonal and transitions to round. The lock, breech of the barrel, barrel tang, trigger guard, and butt plate are handsomely engraved. The trigger guard has a very nice finial and the barrel is banded with gold. The stock has a straight wrist and the rear portion of the trigger guard acts as the pistol grip. The lock is marked “WILLIAM ELLIS”. The barrels still feature a nice twist pattern and the stock has very nice grain. The overall condition is near fine. The barrel displays its twist pattern well with a finish turned deep plum. The markings and engravings are clear. The stock shows honest use and wear and remains quite solid and handsome. The bore is smooth and dusty and will clean up well if the purchaser wishes. The action is strong and crisp. This would make a great gun for over the mantle or for the field! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 23-1/4 inches. Caliber: .63 or about 18 Gauge Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #6472 SOLD Antique: Yes |
