Description: It is a short walk from Buckingham Palace to 26 St. James’ St., London, the address on the rib of the lovely percussion 10ga shotgun as a maker to the Royal family.. The name is listed in British Gunmakers by Neal & Back. “Charles Jones took out patent N. 6394 in 1833. In 1838 his address was 26 St. James St.” Top rib has the address as 26 St. James London.The 30" damascus barrel look externally clean and the hammer both work well and are matched. The lockplates are band note chisel engraved scrolls and the makef name. The fine English walnut stock with a steel checkered flat buttplate is clean and could be a replacement, has a LOP of 15 1/8".. Comes with hardwood ram-rod and brass tip. Both tubes are clean with light frosting. Overall a historical English gun maker in good condition. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
