J. Adsett 12 Bore Sidelock with 28” Barrels

Description:
Used J. Adsett 12 bore sidelock with 28” replacement barrels by George Gibbs. The gun is choked skeet and improved modified. Length of pull of 14 3/8” to a hard butt plate.  

Straight hand stock, double triggers, 5-pin locks utilizing linear coil main springs akin to a modern striker fire setup, push-forward snap-action underlever, non-auto safety, cocking indicators, smooth concave rib with a single front brass bead, checkered wrist and forend with mullered borders, vacant silver oval on the toe line, and a snap-on splinter forend with a horn tip. The original firing pin block safety converted to the more conventional top strap safety at some point. Circa early 1880s gun with new barrels reproofed in London in 1978 with 2 ½” chambers. Chambers measure 2 ½”.    

Engraved with scroll. Silvered action and blued furniture. Very good overall condition. scratches and compression marks on the stock and the checkering is worn. Excellent bores and very good bluing on barrels with two minor dents on the left barrel. Engraving on the snap underlever has softened. The gun is on face.
