JOHN BLANCH & SON 12 GAUGE BACK-ACTION SIDELOCK EJECTOR SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN - 30" BARRELS

12 GAUGE, 30" BARRELS, IMPROVED CYLINDER AND MODIFIED, 2-1/2", DOUBLE TRIGGERS,  EJECTORS, STRAIGHT HAND GRIP, SPLINTER FOREND, CHECKERED BUTT, 7 LBS-2 OZ, 1-3/8" DAC, 2-1/8" DAH, 14-7/8" LOP

English made 12 gauge game shotgun with 30” replacement nitro proved dovetail steel barrels that are fit with ejectors, 2-1/2” chambers, tapered smooth concave game rib with rib extension and a steel bead front sight. Chokes are Improved Cylinder and Modified. The rib is roll marked: 'WILLIAM EVANS, FROM PURDEY'S, 63. PALL MALL, ST JAMES'S, LONDON. Barrel flats have London nitro proof marks. Coin finished treble-grip back-action sidelock ejector is adorned with Blanch's 'Creeping Vine' engraving pattern around bold foliate scrolls with about 75% coverage and "J. BLANCH & SON" engraved on both lockplates. The action body is fit with gas checks (double groves - W & C Scott 'gas check' patent No. 617 of 1882), smooth double triggers protected by a blacked and engraved trigger guard which extends to a full length tang that is engraved with scrolls and the gun's serial number, top lever is blacked, engraved and the left side of the thumb piece is checkered, gold-inlaid cocking indicators and "SAFE" is gold-inlaid ahead of the automatic blacked engraved and scored beetle back concave safety slide. Replacement best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip and a vacant stock oval. Splinter fore-end with matching checkering and Blanch's improved snap bolt lever release which is engraved "J. BLANCH & SON'S IMPROVED SNAP BOLT", 14-7/8" LOP to a checkered butt, 7 Lbs. - 2 Oz. Gun lives in an associated single green canvas case.
