Description: Established in Edinburgh in 1853, Alexander Henry was most famous for being the designer of the Henry rifling and barrel used on the Martini-Henry rifle. Henry was appointed "gun and rifle manufacturer to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales" in 1872. The company also manufactured high quality single and double barrel rifles and shotguns. Single brass bead on a smooth solid concave rib with doll's head extension, which is marked "ALEX. R/HENRY, EDINBURGH AND LONDON/MAKER TO THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCE OF WALES AND DUKE OF EDINBURGH". 2 1/2 inches chambers and bored approximately improved mod and Improved cylinder choke. The grip, action, locks, hammers, trigger guard, and forearm hardware are engraved with fine English scroll and both sides are marked "ALEX HENRY" in banner.
