For those who appreciate high quality German pre-war doubles....An Eduard Kettler of Suhl, also marked "Marke Rhenus" on the left barrel. This is an exquisitely made vintage German 12 gauge double. Double triggers, extractors, 2.5" chambers and 75 CM (29.5") barrels choked F/F, weighing 6 lbs 13 ozs. . This gun was definitely made for the European market. Pre-war vintage but exact date of manufacture is unknown. Exquisite ebony inlaid schnaubel forend. Modern 1 3/8" DAC, about a 14" LOP from front trigger, and automatic safety. Action is tight with lever in the center. Checkering is fine and in good shape. Intricate engraving of metal throughout, including the steel grip cap. Gun appears to be all original in configuration and finishes. The entire gun is a classic patina with no rust or pitting observed. Bores shine like mirrors with no pits or damage. Frame side clips and locking bolt pretty much ensure this gun will never shoot loose. High grade walnut stocks. Imagine what this classic double would cost to build today?!!!
