DeLuxe Pre-war 16 ga. Antoine, Paris

Description:
Highly finished 16 ga. sidelock, 25-3/4" barrels with a distinctive engine turned game rib choked full and full (.027/.027), 2-1/2" chambers.  This circa 1924 beauty is marked  "H. Antoine Arq 31 Av de Suffren Paris".  The bolstered sidelock action retains pleasing case colors and is completely engraved in fine scroll and semi-relief floral bouquets.  Liege proofed and high-end finished for the Paris market.  Auto ejectors, articulated front trigger, non auto safe.  As the shown in the photos, note the the bushed firing pins, gold washed internals, and a radiused front locking lug similar to a Purdey.  All the attributes of of a very BEST gun.
Virtually all the high polish blue finish remains intact.  Highly figured French walnut stock features bold black ribbons throughout and measures 1-3/8" comb, 2-1/4" heel, 14" LOP over a rock hard crushed pad.  Cast off about 3/8". Weighs 6 lbs., 6 oz. The stock has some small marks but would clean up to look fabulous with a leather pad.  Hubert Antoine was described as Arquebusier "Arms de Grand Luxe" and this is a superb example.
