Factory GAME SCENE ENGRAVED 12 g. Double Barrel French BLONDEL Shotgun C&R
BELGIAN PROOFED French Turn of the Century Shotgun
Description: Factory GAME SCENE ENGRAVED 12 g. Double Barrel French BLONDEL Shotgun C&R BELGIAN PROOFED French Turn of the Century Shotgun Here we present a C&R Factory Game Scene Engraved Belgian Proofed French Blondel Double Barrel Side by Side Boxlock Shotgun, likely made circa the early to mid-1900s in France for import to the United States. Several French and Belgian companies made and imported many shotguns to American hardware stores, mail-order houses such as Sears & Roebuck, and gun shops in the United States between 1893 and the roaring twenties. Though England and Belgium were the epicenter for European gunmaking all the way through the turn of the century, France did turn out their fair share. This is a French fowling piece that is elegant in its simplicity and practicality. This double barrel hammerless gun would have been primarily a sporting firearm designed for hunting fowl or taken out on a Saturday afternoon for a little skeet shooting! And, it was always good to have a shotgun around the house just in case ne’er do wells happened to show up with ill intentions. The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The bore is bright and smooth. Very good stock, remains solid with sharp checkering. Liege proofed barrels. Finely detailed engravings throughout. Numbers match. The forend release system is missing, allowing it to be easily removed. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrels are 27 inches. Gauge: 12 Chambers: 2-1/2 inch with ejectors Choke: Improved Modified/Full Length of Pull: 14-3/8 inches Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1350 #230241 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
