One of the Best Examples of Pre War German Craftsmanship 12 Bore SXS Buiilt By STOGOS
Description:
Stogos firearms were crafted as high end European Sporting arms manufactured in Suhl Germany prior to 1939. This particular 12 bore sxs is of very high quality as evidenced by the photographs and was completed in March of 1930. I added a leather coverd .5 inch recoil pad, refinished the stock, and pointed the checkering, I had Briley Manufactuing open the chokes to my specification and they did not disappoint a perfect job 1/4 and 1/2 .010 and .020.ths gun patterns very well with 7/8oz loads and 1150 fps, 2.5 inch 1 oz loads.
The internals are among the best I have seen in a German shotgun at any price point. The horn trigger guard is simply beautiful, the engraving is very well executed, there are a few faint handling marks on the barrel, slightly worn blueing around the action and muzzle, see photos. also 2 small marks on the checkerd swamp rib, the forend has age marks and has been repaired at some point in the past 40 years or so but reamains very nice and solid with the horn tip in perfest condition.
This shotgun is tight and on face and ready as well as having the most highly figured European Walnut stock I have seen on a German Shotgun or any shotgun for that matter.
